Sometimes, you need a little something to make plain vegetables taste better. With salads, you just need to add a little dressing. But, what about regular cooked low carb vegetables eaten with dinner? Butter gets a little old.

Tonight, I was looking for a way to dress up some steamed broccoli. Instead of the usual butter, I thought some creamy low carb cheese sauce would be a nice topping. There’s always a block of cheddar cheese in my fridge so the key ingredient was available.

To make this quick and easy low carb high fat (LCHF) cheese sauce, only three ingredients are needed. In addition to the cheese, you’ll need some heavy cream and mustard. I opted to use dijon mustard.

The prep is super easy. You’ll just melt everything together in a pan over medium high heat. Although it’s not completely necessary, the cheese was grated so it would melt faster.

If you are having trouble getting your kids to eat their veggies, try adding some creamy low carb cheese sauce on top. I get my own kids to eat all kinds of things just by adding cheese.
